Run Like a Gazelle

Most of us don't run from temptation. We negotiate with it, justify it, or convince ourselves we can handle it. But Scripture paints a vivid picture of what God actually expects: run, and run fast. Using the image of a gazelle escaping a hunter, the Bible identifies four specific areas where believers are called to flee rather than linger. Those areas are debt and co-signing, sexual immorality, the love of money, and evil desires. Fleeing sin is only half the equation, though. The goal is not just to run away from something but to run toward righteousness, faith, community, and the Word of God. That is where lasting freedom is found.
